Ecological and geographical structure of biodiversity in the MFGA

GMFA’s plant kingdom numbers 794 species of vascular plants, related to 533 genuses and 133 families, which is 20 % of the plant species of the Russian Far East. The territory of the GMFA is populated with relic families of Aralia, Actinidia, Grapes, Shizandra, Yew, etc. In the GMFA there are plants identified in the extreme northern border of their Eurasian habitat. Judging by the number of their genuses, Cyperaceae, Asteracae, Poaceae families prevail. This testifies to the boreal type of GMFA’s flora. The most numerous element of GMFA’s flora is the East-Asian type, and 1/3 of its species have a common habitat area with Japan, Korea, and China. The complex of the Manjuria flora is related mostly to the forest type of vegetation and contains 223 genuses of vascular plants.
